Parveen Smith’s journey began in 2001 when she started working in schools, mentoring children who struggled emotionally and mentally. Having grown up in a single-parent household with four sisters, she understood what it felt like to be lost and unheard. This experience fueled her passion for supporting children through emotional challenges, helping them build resilience and meaningful friendships.
However, her life took a drastic turn when she fell seriously ill. One morning, she struggled to breathe, fearing she might never see her daughter again. Rushed to the hospital by ambulance, she found herself unable to eat and breathe at the same time or walk and talk simultaneously. Doctors warned her that she could remain disabled for years. The news was devastating, but she refused to accept this fate.
For two years, her husband became her carer after losing his job. Determined to heal, Parveen explored powerful techniques—including neuroscience-based practices—that ultimately restored her health, exactly two years to the month of her illness. This transformative experience ignited her passion for wellbeing. She began coaching individuals, training professionals across Europe, and eventually founded Soul 2 Soul Wellbeing, where she integrates neuroscience, mindfulness, and holistic healing to help people worldwide achieve emotional, mental, and physical transformation.
To learn more about Parveen’s incredible journey and transformative work, let’s delve into the interview below!
You experienced a life-changing illness and disability. How did this personal struggle influence your professional path and lead to the creation of Soul 2 Soul Wellbeing?
I underwent a transformative experience due to my life-changing disability that prompted me to re-evaluate my priorities. Previously, I focused on responsibilities such as mentoring children. While these roles were of great importance to me, my narrative shifted dramatically following my experience with illness. I discovered that I was now in a position to provide wellbeing expertise and support to a broader audience. This journey has significantly expanded my horizons and opened new avenues for personal and professional growth.
Your work involves not only healing yourself but also empowering others. Can you share some key strategies you use to help people transform their lives?
My work involved healing myself by applying various techniques. In doing so, I also empowered others by teaching them how to reset their bodies, heal their bodies, and align their bodies. This work spanned two decades. Now, I am sharing key strategies to help people in their lives. One of the initial steps in empowering and transforming one’s life is understanding what transformation is, it can be perceived differently by everyone. For me, it signifies dramatic change that can manifest in various forms. For instance, it could involve a person changing their personality or character, transformation can also lead to the mind, mindset, and behaviours, as well as physical changes. It is a process akin to an alchemical change, turning something basic into something extraordinary.
One of the aspects to consider is the purpose of life. Every individual has a purpose, whether it is to be a full-time parent, find a job that aligns with their values, or focus on personal growth. The mind is powerful, but it is not solely about positive thinking, although that helps. When a person feels anxious, stressed, or generally unhappy, we must examine the symptoms their body is experiencing. Recognising these actions and reactions allows us to address them more effectively. Another strategy is goal setting. Our strategies are done in depth with clients who are ready to achieve wellness and embrace a holistic approach to life. Transformative Coaching plays a key role in this process, offering multiple programs designed to deliver real, lasting results.
You’ve authored three books: “Seeing Is Believing, Believing Is Seeing” and “Head in Heaven Feet On Earth. Transformative Path 7 Steps To Personal Growth And Empowerment” What inspired you to write these books, and how do they reflect your philosophy on wellbeing?
I wrote the books to give others hope. All the books represent wellbeing. My philosophy is you can change things. The journey of life and business is not easy, but you can make the changes to live a healthier abundant life.
Soul 2 Soul Wellbeing overall uses some mindfulness-based theories. How do you integrate these approaches in your work, and what benefits have you seen in your clients?
Our wellness sessions utilise specific techniques designed to transition the body’s system from disorder to clarity. Furthermore, we provide Neuroscience Coaching aimed at supporting individuals, Chief Executive Officers, and leaders who want personal and professional developments
With 24 years of experience as an inspirational global speaker, author, and trainer, what do you consider to be the most significant changes you’ve witnessed in the field of mental and emotional wellbeing?
Many transformations occur when clients attend our sessions or training. I know that a significant impact is made when I share what I do on stage. I’ve witnessed numerous individuals realise that what they were experiencing was close to severe depression or thoughts of suicide, and we have successfully turned their lives around.
As someone from a British-Indian background, how has your cultural heritage influenced your approach to wellbeing and healthcare?
Coming from an Asian British background I’ve got to say that the ancient traditional ways of healing the body system is great but in what we do is we have a modern approach to resetting the body realigning the body and giving it the best opportunity to have the greatest life. So, meditation is a great ancient tradition which is applied for a positive mindset and approach for clarity. Overall, I would say there have always been sages and gurus and healers in India and what I am doing is providing a Professional Practice to support clients and they see remarkable changes in their wellbeing.
What advice would you give to healthcare professionals who want to incorporate a more holistic, soul-centered approach in their practice?
We are very much helping people in all walks of life such as school teachers, doctors, nurses, dentists, business owners, so if only healthcare professionals realised, we can train people to become practitioners to help clients wellbeing. Let’s get people healthy and well and reduce many things one big one is absenteeism.
As a leader in my field, I can share more on leadership with organisations, and I have had the privilege to be at Westminster London a few times already as a VIP Guest. I have shared my motivation to help transform lives today as tomorrow is too late.
